Dance Lab

The 2010 AIYF Dance lab continues the development started in 2009 with more opportunities to explore dance styles in depth with guest masterclass tutors from Scotland and abroad in partnerships with three of the country’s main dance organisations working with young people – Scottish Ballet, City Moves Dance Agency & Y-Dance. Each master class will run over three or four days and invite the participants to stretch their dance vocabulary and techniques.

Participants can elect to come for one, two or all three masterclasses subject to number limitations. Each Dance Lab tutor will explore how the dancer creatively develops their own dance while keeping a strong technical reference point through warm up classes followed by sessions designed to bring creative, improvisational and choreographic challenges.

Each of the AIYF Dance Labs will have limited places and participants will be selected after submission of an application form and letter outlining their dance experience by the closing date of May 17th 2010.
